Here are ten more fun facts about APCI Federal Credit Union.

• You are more than a member; you are a part-owner. Credit unions are owned by the members who use its services. A volunteer board of directors is elected by members to manage a credit union. APCI FCU's board of directors consists of nine members. Elections occur at our Annual Meeting in April of each year.
   
• When the Credit Union was first established in 1954, it only serviced Air Products employees in Emmaus, PA. Trexlertown, PA Air Products employees were not added to the field of membership until 1958.
   
• Did you know that in the 1970s, all APCI FCU loan applications went to a committee for review and an auto loan approval would take a week? Today, you can apply online with APCI eBanking for a vehicle loan and you could get pre-approved the same day.
   
• In the 1980s, APCI FCU's service offerings expanded greatly:
  • 1982: IRA Accounts
  • 1984: Tellerphone bank by phone access (now APCI eTalk)
  • 1985: Checking Accounts and ATM access
  • 1987: Home Equity Line of Credit Loan
  • 1988: Mastercard® credit card
     
• In 1986 our current APCI Federal Credit Union logo design was introduced. This year, we are using a special variation of our traditional logo in celebration of our 70th service anniversary.

• In 1996 when APCI FCU launched their first website, google.com didn't exist yet, and most people used dial-up Internet connections. In February, we introduced our new website design and kicked off our year-long 70th service anniversary celebration. It is amazing how far technology has come!
   
• Our original mobile app, APCI eMobile, was introduced in 2016 as part of our technology upgrade. Our first mobile deposit was made by a member on August 1, 2016, for $400.00. APCI eDeposit was introduced during our technology upgrade that year. Members can deposit checks securely using a mobile device at their convenience using the current APCI eBanking mobile app.
   
• We introduced our new APCI eBanking Online Digital Banking platform with enhanced options and features, during our system upgrade in May of 2022.
   
• Our website is AudioEye certified. The Toolbar offers tools that benefit all site visitors with diverse abilities.
   
• Did you know that our Credit Union team visits select areas across the country throughout the year to interact with Air Products and Versum Materials/EMD employees and their family and household members?
